静かに香りを楽しむための香台。
器の上に静かに浮かぶ雫をモチーフに、動きのある形状が一定に留まることで生まれる造形的な静けさを表現しました。日本的な素材感や造形要素、そしてシンプルさを意識したデザインにより、和洋どちらの空間にも調和する佇まいを目指しています。
中心にある雫を模した香台はアルミ製で、使用しない際には裏返すことで香を立てる穴を隠し、洗練された印象を保つことができます。メープル材の器には、日本の伝統技法である「墨染め」を施し、さらにオイルで仕上げることで、木目を活かしたマットな黒色に仕上げています。
An Incense Holder for Quietly Savoring Fragrance
Inspired by a droplet gently floating atop a vessel, Shizuku captures a sense of sculptural stillness within dynamic motion. This incense holder is designed with an awareness of Japanese materiality, form, and simplicity, ensuring it harmonizes seamlessly with both traditional and contemporary spaces.
At its center, the droplet-shaped holder is crafted from aluminum. When not in use, it can be flipped over to conceal the incense hole, maintaining a clean aesthetic. The base, made from maple wood, undergoes a traditional Japanese sumi-zome (ink-dyeing) process, followed by an oil finish. This technique enhances the natural grain of the wood, resulting in a rich, matte black surface.
