近年、多くの国で都市部の人口密度が高まりによって、ひとりひとりの快適な居住空間を得ることが難しくなっています。
そこで、アジアの伝統的な床座生活に着目し、空間を広く感じられる、家具を柔軟に配置できるという利点を活かしたデザインを考えました。
「Kusabira」 は、クッションとロースツールの中間的な家具として、床に近い暮らしをより快適にするプロダクトです。優しい印象を追求する中で生まれた、キノコのようなフォルムが特徴です。
名前の由来である 「Kusabira」 は、木に寄生しないキノコを意味する古語。自由に配置できるデザインのコンセプトを表現しています。

Enhancing Floor Living
As urban density increases, securing a comfortable living space has become a challenge. Inspired by traditional Asian floor-living practices, we focused on their key advantages: creating a sense of spaciousness and allowing flexible furniture arrangements.
Kusabira is designed as a hybrid between a cushion and a low stool, enhancing comfort in floor-level living. Its soft, inviting form naturally evolved into a mushroom-like shape.The name "Kusabira" comes from an ancient Japanese word for non-parasitic mushrooms for wood, symbolizing its free and flexible placement.Kusabira redefines floor living with comfort and versatility.
